Sundog, a Fargo-based marketing and technology company, has laid off 13 full-time employees.
Sundog CEO Brent Teiken said Monday that the layoffs were effective early last week and represent about 15 to 16 percent of the company’s work force.
Teiken said the job cuts, which included all types of positions, were the result of the current recession.
“We do a lot of work in the manufacturing vertical. When you look across that vertical just about every client that we work with is trimming back budgets, and they have been doing that for sometime,” Teiken said. “It’s across that industry.”
Sundog, located in the Multiband tower building at 2000 44th St. S., employs about 67 people, he said.
Teiken said the company hopes to recall some of the employees if the economy improves.
“We’re expecting a slow recovery,” Teiken said. “We look at the manufacturing side of things and start to see maybe some turnaround later in 2010.”
